Ministério Público pretende barrar a alteração do nome da Guarda para Polícia Municipal

O ministério público entrou com uma ação para barrar a lei que autorizou a Guarda Civil Municipal de Santa Bárbara d’Oeste a alterar a nomenclatura para Polícia Municipal.

A ação inconstitucional do Ministério Público contra a câmara e a prefeitura de Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, pretende barrar a nova designação da Guarda Civil Municipal.

Isso ocorreu pois, para a procuradoria geral de Justiça, os Guardas Civis tem o dever te proteger bens, instalações e serviços municipais. Portanto, não possuem funções de polícia militarizada.

Além disso, a procuradoria também argumentou que a câmara municipal não possui capacidade para intervir em um órgão municipal, cabendo a administração apenas ao poder Executivo, e não Legislativo.

A Prefeitura de Santa Bárbara d’Oeste afirmou que ainda não recebeu notificação sobre a ação.
