A Guarda Civil Municipal (GCM) de Valinhos (SP) localizou nesta segunda-feira (17) o condutor do veículo que atropelou uma idosa de 81 anos no último sábado (15), na Avenida Joaquim Alves Correia. A vítima não resistiu aos ferimentos.

A identificação do veículo só foi possível por meio do cruzamento dos dados das câmeras com as informações dos sistemas de segurança utilizados no Centro de Operações e Inteligência (COI), inaugurado em janeiro deste ano.

A prisão aconteceu no Jardim Maracanã e a GCM encaminhou o motorista ao Distrito Policial (DP).

O motorista estava com a CNH vencida desde 2020 e vai responder pelo crime em liberdade, já que o período de flagrante já havia passado no momento da prisão.

A vítima, Bernardina Alexandre, estava internada na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI) da Santa Casa, mas faleceu na manhã desta segunda-feira.
