Paraquedista de 49 anos morre após salto em Piracicaba

Um paraquedista de 49 anos, identificado como Emerson Benavidis Carneiro, morreu após realizar um salto em Piracicaba (SP) e colidir fortemente com o solo, no momento do pouso. O acidente aconteceu nesta sexta-feira (18), próximo à Rodovia do Açúcar (SP-308).

De acordo com a Polícia Militar (PM), profissionais de uma escola de voo saíram com uma turma em um avião para realização de saltos. Eram vários paraquedistas, todos formados com habilitação para fazer saltos.

A maioria dos atletas pousou no aeroporto municipal, exceto a vítima, que caiu na pista de aeromodelismo. Funcionários do aeroporto encontraram o corpo do paraquedista com múltiplas fraturas.

O Corpo de Bombeiros foi chamado, mas Carneiro morreu no local.

Conforme informações da prefeitura da cidade, o atleta possuía mais de 250 saltos, comprovando experiência na atividade.

As causas do acidente estão sendo investigadas.
