O dono do imóvel, um idoso de 68 anos, disse que os criminosos arrombaram o portão lateral da garagem para entrar.

Segundo informações da Polícia Civil, o idoso estava dormindo e acordou com os barulhos provocados por conta das chamas. Ele tentou apagar o incêndio, mas o fogo se alastrou rapidamente.

Moradores da região ligaram para o Corpo de Bombeiros. As chamas foram contidas em pouco tempo, mas o carro, que não tinha seguro, ficou destruído. O fogo também danificou a estrutura da garagem.

O idoso registrou queixa no 1° Distrito Policial (DP) de Americana. No registro, a vítima disse que câmeras de monitoramento próximas ao local podem ter flagrado a chegada e/ou fuga dos bandidos.

Em depoimento, ele afirmou não conhecer os criminosos e disse não ter desavenças com pessoas da região. Porém, o homem revelou que está em meio à uma disputa com parte da família por uma partilha de bens.

A Polícia Civil solicitou perícia para o local com o objetivo de obter alguma prova que leve aos autores do crime. A investigação sobre o caso será feita pelo 2° Distrito Policial (DP) de Americana.
