A equipe composta pelos agentes Procópio e Marangone foi até o local e detive um aposentado de 67 anos, o mesmo informou que as aves eram de sua responsabilidade, porém não tinha autorização do Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e Recursos Naturais Renováveis (IBAMA) para mantê-las na casa.

O homem foi encaminhado à Polícia Civil de Americana (PCA), onde após o registro do documento, ele foi liberado. Já as corujas foram encaminhadas para o Parque Ecológico e ficaram sob os cuidados do biólogo Guilherme Guidolin Galassi.
