O veículo estava carregado com placas de concreto avaliadas em cerca de R$ 18 mil.

Conforme apuração do site Policial Padrão, o acidente aconteceu por volta das 2h, na Avenida Cecília Meirelles. Com a batida, a carga caiu no canteiro central da avenida.

A Polícia Militar (PM) atendeu o caso e encontrou o veículo aberto e sem nenhum motorista.

Moradores da região disseram que ouviram um barulho alto, mas ao saírem para ver o que tinha acontecido, já não havia ninguém no caminhão.

A pesquisa das placas não indicou nenhuma queixa de roubo ou furto. No interior da cabine, estavam as notas fiscais das placas em nome de uma empresa situada na mesma cidade, além de documentos do motorista.

A polícia solicitou a remoção do veículo e registrou o caso na Central de Polícia Judiciária (CPJ).

Posteriormente, um responsável se apresentou e relatou o furto do caminhão. O crime teria acontecido durante a madrugada, momentos antes do acidente. Ele repassou as informações e recuperou o veículo.
