Segundo a autarquia, os testes foram feitos conforme planejado e as quatro motobombas funcionaram perfeitamente. Com o término do serviço, a Estação de Tratamento de Água (ETA) voltou a ser abastecida.

De acordo com o DAE, a próxima etapa será ligar a nova Captação, previsão que isso seja feito nos próximos dias, após o treinamento e avaliação dos dados coletados nos testes desta segunda-feira.

Com a nova Unidade, será viabilizado o aumento da captação no Rio Piracicaba, já autorizada pelo Departamento de Águas e Energia Elétrica (DAEE), órgão estadual responsável pela gestão dos recursos hídricos paulistas.

O município está autorizado a retirar 1.300 litros de água por segundo. Atualmente, a outorga permite a retirada de 1.050 por segundo, garantindo o abastecimento à população no futuro.
