Conforme apuração do Policial Padrão, o acidente aconteceu por volta das 19h30, no km 72 da rodovia, região do Sítio da Moenda.

Um motorista de 21 anos relatou à polícia que dirigia um Chevrolet Montana na faixa esquerda da pista, quando viu o homem atravessando de forma repentina.

O jovem alegou que não teve tempo hábil de desviar e atingiu o idoso com o lado direito do veículo. Na sequência, outros veículos atropelaram o corpo da vítima, que morreu no local.

Segundo informações de funcionários da Concessionária Rota das Bandeiras, o idoso era morador de rua e ficava debaixo da ponte do km 70.

Após os trabalhos necessários, o serviço funerário removeu o corpo ao Instituto Médico Legal (IML).
