Serão nomeados 2.100 soldados de 2° classe de um edital de 2019, que estava suspenso, para a Polícia Militar. Após a nomeação, os candidatos iniciarão o Curso Superior Técnico de Polícia Ostensiva e Preservação da Ordem Pública, na Escola Superior de Soldados.

O curso terá início em dezembro e a previsão é que a turma inicie o policiamento preventivo no final do ano que vem. Além disso, no primeiro semestre de 2021 haverá a nomeação de mais 2.700 soldados de 2° classe e 190 alunos-oficiais de outros dois concursos suspensos de 2019 e 2020

Para atividades de polícia judiciária, serão nomeados 885 profissionais, sendo 32 delegados, 600 investigadores, 54 agentes de telecomunicação, 30 papiloscopistas, 86 auxiliares de papiloscopista e 83 agentes policiais.

Após a nomeação, os candidatos iniciarão o curso de formação na Academia de Polícia Dr. Coriolano Nogueira Cobra (Acadepol) também em dezembro, com seis meses de duração.

Atualmente, foram contratados mais de 7,1 mil policiais, sendo 5.060 militares, 1.323 civis e 765 técnico-científicos. Outros 3,5 mil profissionais passam atualmente por formação, sendo 3.361 policiais militares entre soldados e alunos-oficiais e 218 delegados para a Polícia Civil.
