Durante uma briga, a vítima foi esfaqueada no pescoço e ficou em estado grave.

Conforme apuração do Policial Padrão, o crime ocorreu por volta das 22h, na Rua Valentim Amaral. A vítima brigou com um homem de 28 anos, que um dia antes teria agredido o tio dela.

O autor deu uma facada no pescoço da vítima e fugiu quando percebeu a gravidade do ferimento.

O aniversariante foi conduzido até uma Unidade de Pronto Atendimento (UPA), onde os médicos constataram o rompimento de duas artérias.  Devido à gravidade do caso, ele foi encaminhado à um hospital de Piracicaba (SP) para uma cirurgia emergencial.

A Polícia Militar (PM), fez buscas pelo autor do crime e o localizou ainda no mesmo bairro onde o crime aconteceu. Ele carregava a faca usada no ato em uma mochila e recebeu voz de prisão em flagrante.

O autor foi levado ao plantão policial de Piracicaba, onde o caso foi registrado como tentativa de homicídio.
