Os animais foram encontrados em estado de extrema magreza e desnutrição.

De acordo com a Delegacia de Investigações Gerais (DIG/Deic), a prisão foi em um imóvel no bairro Barão Geraldo.

Policiais civis por meio do Setor de Proteção Animal, realizaram uma operação com o objetivo de proteger e combater maus-tratos a animais. A equipe, através de denúncias, foi ao local e deteve o suspeito, que alegava ser adestrador de cães.

A equipe observou que o ambiente era impróprio para a criação dos cães, dois sem raça definida, um Dog Alemão, um Pastor Belga de Malinois e um Husky Siberiano. Os animais foram encaminhados a duas ONGs de proteção.

O homem permaneceu à disposição da Justiça. O caso foi registrado como crime de abuso a animais pela 1ª DIG de Campinas.
