O local estava interditado desde 18 de janeiro para a execução de obras de contenção de águas pluviais, nas proximidades do viaduto da Cidade Jardim, que foi autorizada pelo DER no ano passado para a prefeitura iniciar as obras.

As obras de contenção foram feitas por meio do Departamento de Estradas de Rodagem (DER), com o apoio da Prefeitura de Americana, que executa a sinalização no local.

Segundo a Secretaria de Obras e Serviços Urbanos (Sosu), as obras de contenção foram concluídas na semana passada. O DER realizou a construção do muro de gabião às margens da SP-304, trecho de aproximadamente 250 metros, refez as canaletas de chuva no acostamento e na Rua das Petúnias, executou a recomposição do asfalto no acostamento, plantou grama na parte de cima e fará a instalação da proteção de guard rail.
