O acidente aconteceu por volta das 6h30, na Rodovia dos Bandeirantes (SP-348).

De acordo com informações da Polícia Rodoviária, o motorista dormiu ao volante, invadiu o canteiro central e caiu na Estrada do Mão Branca, que passa sob a rodovia.

O motorista não se feriu, mas os quatro passageiros do carro, um homem e três mulheres, tiveram ferimentos leves. Eles foram socorridos para hospitais da região.

A polícia fez o teste do bafômetro no condutor, que apontou que ele estava embriagado, com 0,48 mg/l de álcool. Ele foi preso por embriaguez ao volante e autuado na 2ª Delegacia Seccional de Campinas.
