Os trabalhos são realizados por equipes da Central Especializada de Repressão a Crimes e Ocorrências Diversas (Cerco), da 4ª Delegacia Seccional de Polícia da Capital. Os agentes cumprem as ordens judiciais na cidade de São Paulo, região metropolitana e litoral.

De acordo com o apurado, o grupo criminoso, após clonar o aplicativo da vítima, se passa por ela para solicitar dinheiro a conhecidos da sua lista de contatos. Quem cai no golpe realiza transferências bancárias, inclusive usando o PIX, e os valores caem em contas de laranjas, que recebem uma porcentagem deste dinheiro.

Participam das atividades as demais Delegacias Seccionais da Capital, somando 113 policiais e 54 viaturas. Detalhes e resultados da ação serão divulgados durante entrevista coletiva.
