A Guarda Municipal precisou acionar o Grupamento Especial de Reação (GER) para detonar o artefato.

De acordo com informações da corporação, o material estava no sótão de uma casa situada no Jardim Vista Alegre, área central da cidade. Assim que encontrou o artefato, o morador chamou o policiamento.

O objeto era uma Rocket Propellled Grenade, granada que possui disparador de ombro, datada da Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939 a 1945).

Diante do risco, o Grupamento Especial de Reação (GER) foi até o local fazer a retirada do artefato. Logo depois, a granada foi detonada em segurança na pedreira da Galvani, situada no bairro São Bento.
