Os alvos dos mandados são de Santa Bárbara d’Oeste e Sumaré (SP).

De acordo com a PF, a 1ª Vara Federal de Campinas (SP) expediu três mandados de busca e apreensão. Os três endereços são residenciais e estão ligados ao principal investigado.

A investigação demonstrou que, por meio de um site, o homem disponibilizava, sem a devida licença ou qualquer autorização dos titulares do direito de transmissão de sinal televisivo, uma assinatura de acesso a uma lista IPTV, pela qual é possível assistir diversos canais de televisão, além de facultar a compra de créditos para revenda.

A tecnologia IPTV é um método de transmissão de sinal de televisão via internet que permite seu envio por meio de conversores eletrônicos, possibilitando ao usuário adquirente acessar o conteúdo de um canal de TV fechada por meio de um computador, smartphone, SmartTV, tablet ou TV Box, desde que equipados com softwares destinados a esta finalidade.

A pena prevista para este crime é de quatro anos, além de multa.
