A equipe estava em patrulhamento quando avistou o veículo que tinha sido furtado, na Avenida Antônio Francisco de Paula Souza, com um ocupante dentro. Os policiais tentaram fazer a abordagem, mas o homem acelerou e houve perseguição por diversas ruas do bairro.

Na Rua Vicente Belocchio com a Rua Albuquerque Lins o homem desceu do carro e tentou fugir por uma área de mato próximo ao Córrego do Piçarrão, mas foi detido pelos policiais.

O detido foi levado para a 2ª Delegacia Seccional de Campinas, onde foi registrada ocorrência de furto de veículo. A vítima foi acionada e recuperou o veículo dela.
