A Polícia Militar foi acionada via Copom para atender uma ocorrência de acidente de trânsito na Avenida Lix da Cunha. Próximo ao túnel João Petado, os policiais encontraram a vítima sendo socorrida pela ambulância da Unimed.

Foi constatado que o motorista bateu o carro contra três coqueiros que ficam na divisa da pista e, além de derrubar as árvores acabou derrubando um radar.

Os documentos do motorista do carro foram verificados e confirmado que o licenciamento do veículo estava vencido e a CNH cassada. O carro foi removido para o pátio da Emdec.

O motorista acabou confessando que estava voltando de um churrasco e que teria ingerido bebida alcoólica. A ocorrência foi apresentada no 1º Distrito Policial. O delegado expediu um ofício ao Hospital Mário Gatti, onde o condutor estava internado, para ser realizada a coleta de sangue dele para verificar a concentração de álcool por litro de sangue.
