O menino foi encontrado por uma mulher que passava no local e encaminhado com hipotermia à Santa Casa.

De acordo com informações da Polícia Militar (PM), a mulher viu o menino em uma área de mata na Rua Monteiro Lobato após ouvir pedidos de socorro. A criança contou à polícia que o padrasto bateu nela e depois a jogou no rio.

No momento do ocorrido, a mãe da criança estava com a outra filha no hospital devido a uma infecção no intestino, mas uma câmera de segurança flagrou o momento do abandono do menino.

As imagens mostram um carro parando no local por volta das 2h e o homem entrando com a criança no matagal às margens do córrego. A localização do menino aconteceu cerca de cinco horas depois.

A polícia iniciou a busca pelo padrasto, que tentou fugir, mas foi preso em flagrante. Ele vai responder por tentativa de homicídio.
