A vítima perdeu o controle durante uma manobra de curva e sofreu várias fraturas.

Imagens mostram o momento do acidente que ocorreu em uma área conhecida pela prática do esporte, na Serra do Itaqueri.

A vítima caiu em uma área de difícil acesso e o resgate mobilizou dois helicópteros da PM e uso de técnicas de rapel.

O piloto foi resgatado consciente e levado ao Hospital de Clínicas da Unicamp.

As causas do acidente ainda são desconhecidas. Após a queda, um médico cardiologista que fazia atividade física no local realizou o primeiro atendimento.

Logo depois, o Corpo de Bombeiros chegou e levou à vítima para o Hospital Municipal. O homem teria sofrido múltiplas fraturas e parada cardíaca, e não resistiu.

França nasceu em Valinhos e morava no distrito de Barão Geraldo, em Campinas.
