De acordo com a Polícia Militar Rodoviária (PMR), dois veículos trafegavam pela referida rodovia, entre os municípios de Santa Bárbara d’Oeste e Capivari, estando cada automóvel em sua mão de direção.

Ao atingirem o quilometro 020, um dos veículos ao realizar ultrapassagem em local proibido veio a colidir frontalmente contra o automóvel que transitava no sentido oposto, em sua mão de direção.

Um pessoa ficou em estado grave e as outras duas apenas ferimentos leves, todas foram encaminhadas ao Pronto Socorro Edson Mano.
