De acordo com o artigo 24A inserido no decreto 9847, alterando o decreto para o de número 10.630, todos os Guardas Civis Municipais do Brasil terão direito ao porte/ posse de arma de fogo, independente do número de guardas ou cidadãos no município.

Além disso, os processos anteriores contra Guardas Municipais por posse ilegal de arma de fogo, estarão extintos, pois agora com essa liberação, se tornou um direito dos agentes.

“Art. 24-A.  O porte de arma de fogo também será deferido aos integrantes das entidades de que tratam os incisos III, IV, V, X e XI do caput do art. 6º da Lei nº 10.826, de 2003, aos integrantes do quadro efetivo das polícias penais federal, estadual ou distrital e aos agentes e guardas prisionais, em razão do desempenho de suas funções institucionais.”
