De acordo com a administração municipal, essa é a maior renovação de armas da história da corporação, permitindo que cada agente de segurança tenha uma arma exclusiva para uso.

O evento de entrega contou com a presença do prefeito, Du Cazellato, que reforçou seu compromisso com a segurança pública paulinense. Ele destacou que com investimentos em equipamentos, cursos e tecnologias e ações, é possível proteger cada vez mais a cidade.

Já o secretário de Segurança Pública, Maick Lucizano, lembrou que o arsenal existente possuía mais de 20 anos de uso. “Agora usamos o mesmo equipamento das Polícias Federal e Civil, além de aumentar o poder de fogo trocando o calibre .380 pelo calibre 9mm”, reforçou.

Além das 230 pistolas, a GCM recebeu nos últimos 6 meses oito fuzis 556, oito carabinas 9mm e quatro carabinas semiautomáticas .40.

A cerimônia ocorreu no Centro de Operações Integradas (COI) e contou com a presença do vice-prefeito, Sargento Camargo, dos vereadores, dos delegados de Polícia Civil, Roney de Carvalho e Ricardo Zinn, de secretários municipais, do presidente do Conselho Municipal de Segurança (Conseg), Maurício Pereira dos Santos e de guardas civis.

A aquisição de novas armas integra o “Programa Paulínia Mais Segura”, lançado em agosto de 2022.
