Os bandidos foram encontrados pela Polícia Militar (PM).

De acordo com o boletim de ocorrência, por volta das 10h, os policiais receberam informações de um roubo de uma carga de cigarros de uma Fiat Fiorino. O veículo possuía rastreamento e a localização indicava que o utilitário estava na Estrada do Furlan também em Hortolândia (SP). Os PMs foram até lá, mas o carregamento já havia sido levado.

A carga possuía um sistema de rastreamento exclusivo e através dele, as equipes policiais descobriram que ela estava na Rua Treze, no bairro Recanto das Árvores em Sumaré (SP). Os 365 pacotes de cigarros estavam na caçamba de uma picape e foram recuperados.

Uma das equipes da PM, recebeu informações de que o carro utilizado no roubo era alugado e também tinha rastreamento. A equipe foi até esse terceiro local e encontrou os três criminosos dentro de uma residência. Eles apresentaram versões diferentes do que faziam ali, foram reconhecidos pela vítima como autores do roubo e presos.

O caso foi registrado no 5º Distrito Policial (DP) de Sumaré, onde os criminosos permaneceram presos.

Uma arma falsa usada no crime foi apreendida.
