A abordagem do condutor aconteceu durante uma operação de fiscalização na região. Na checagem, os agentes constataram a irregularidade do veículo.

De acordo com a corporação, o condutor adquiriu a moto em um leilão. Além disso, os sistemas de radares fixos na cidade já haviam autuado o veículo quatro vezes.

Segundo o Artigo 311 do Código Penal, a pena para adulteração de sinal identificador de veículo, varia de três a seis anos em reclusão, além do pagamento de multa.
