A vítima é moradora de Americana (SP).

De acordo com informações passadas pela família, o jovem teria ido no local com os familiares para se banhar, quando teria ido até o meio do rio e começou a se afogar.

A corporação diz que o menino pode ter sido levado pela forte correnteza até as proximidades da Ponte de Ferro quando desapareceu nas águas do rio.

As buscas estão sendo feitas com o auxílio de mergulhadores durante o final de semana. Nesta segunda-feira (14) os bombeiros darão continuidade.
