De acordo com a Polícia Rodoviária, o acidente aconteceu por volta das 18h, na altura do km 46 da Rodovia Ciro Albuquerque (SP-225).

As vítimas estavam em um Hyundai Creta que transitava no sentido Analândia (SP), quando por motivos a serem apurados, bateram de frente com um caminhão Volvo que vinha no sentido contrário.

Com o impacto da batida, o carro capotou, caiu do pontilhão e parou na Rua Felipe Boller. O casal, que residia na cidade de Ribeirão Preto (SP) morreu no local.

O condutor do caminhão foi submetido ao teste do bafômetro que deu negativo.

O caso foi registrado como homicídio culposo na direção de veículo automotor e as causas serão investigadas.
