A prisão foi realizada pela Polícia Militar (PM), na Estrada Municipal Teodor Condiev, no limite com o município de Hortolândia (SP).

De acordo com o 48º BPM/I, os policiais Cabo Pelizo e Soldado Everton foram informados que após o assalto em Americana os dois indivíduos armados teriam entrado na cidade de Sumaré pela Avenida Ângelo Ongaro.

A equipe iniciou patrulhamento pela região e por volta das 22h10 os suspeitos foram encontrados na Estrada Municipal Teodor Condiev. No local a dupla foi detida juntamente com o veículo, durante buscas veicular foram localizados um revolver calibre 38, com cindo munições e um simulacro de arma de fogo.

A dupla foi encaminhada ao Plantão Policial, onde o permaneceu à disposição da Justiça, um deles já havia antecedentes criminais.
