O incidente aconteceu na região do Jardim Baronesa, mas não deixou feridos.

De acordo com o Corpo de Bombeiros, a árvore ficava na calçada da Rua Frei José de Monte Carmelo, próximo à esquina com a Avenida Dr. Arlindo Joaquim de Melo.

A equipe ainda informou que foi acionada por volta de 14h desta sexta-feira (13) para fazer a remoção.

De acordo com a Defesa Civil, Campinas registrou 19,2 milímetros de chuva. A equipe recebeu notificações de 62 quedas de árvores, duas situações de risco de queda, três quedas de galhos, alagamentos de dois imóveis, uma via pública em erosão e uma residência com risco de desabamento.

As regiões do município mais afetadas durante o temporal, de aproximadamente 20 minutos, foram Leste, Sul e Central. Os ventos foram de 72 km/h, por volta das 15h, na estação de medição do Aeroporto Internacional de Viracopos.
