De acordo com a Polícia Militar (PM), a casa fica na Rua Jaime Ulhoa Cintra. O menino teria se queimado após mexer com produto inflamável perto de um galão com combustível. A irmã dele não se feriu.

Equipes de resgate socorreram a vítima e depois o helicóptero Águia da PM a encaminhou à Unidade de Tratamento de Queimados (UTQ) da Santa Casa de Limeira (SP).

A Prefeitura de Sumaré informou que o estado de saúde da criança é considerado grave.

A PM prendeu os pais das crianças por abandono de incapaz e apresentou o caso na Delegacia de Defesa da Mulher (DDM) de Sumaré. O casal também deve responder por maus-tratos a animais, pois havia um cachorro com sinais de desnutrição na casa.
