Não houve feridos.

A corporação evacuou o edifício que fica na Rua Voluntários de Piracicaba, para garantir a segurança dos moradores. Equipes da Defesa Civil e da perícia também estiveram no local.

O combate às chamas durou até por volta das 13h30 e os moradores aguardaram o término dos trabalhos na calçada.

O fogo teria começado em uma unidade residencial no sexto andar do prédio.

De acordo com o tenente do Corpo de Bombeiros, os agentes controlaram o incêndio com certa facilidade. Não houve vítimas por possíveis queimaduras ou por intoxicação por fumaça, apenas danos materiais no apartamento atingido.

As causas do incêndio ainda são desconhecidas. Um laudo deverá ser feito pelas equipes da perícia técnica.
