De acordo com informações da prefeitura, os casos têm acontecido em uma área verde situada no final da Rua Ângelo Príncipe Padela, no Parque Fabrício.

Após orientação do Setor de Zoonoses, uma moradora registrou a ocorrência junto à Polícia Civil, para que o provável crime seja devidamente investigado e os responsáveis, identificados e encaminhados para a Justiça.

Há cerca de duas semanas, uma equipe de Zoonoses esteve no local, a pedido de moradores próximos, e localizou um gato adulto com sintomas de envenenamento.

Com apoio da Associação Amigos dos Animais de Nova Odessa (AAANO), o animal foi encaminhado para uma clínica veterinária local, onde recebeu tratamento.

No entanto, segundo os moradores, outros seis ou sete animais já teriam morrido nas proximidades recentemente, com os mesmos sintomas.

A Polícia Civil solicita que se alguém tiver informações sobre quem seria o responsável, com provas, filmagens ou testemunhas da ação do criminoso, pode procurar a delegacia de Nova Odessa com garantia de sigilo.
