Os guardas informaram que foram ao local após diversas denúncias de um possível furto de fios. No viaduto, eles constataram uma ligação com um cabo de aproximadamente 40 metros em um ponto de energia que alimentava os postes de iluminação e detiveram a dupla.

Questionados, os homens contaram que usariam a rede elétrica do viaduto para ligar um rádio. A dupla foi detida e levada à delegacia.
