O documento aponta que o animal morreu de câncer no fígado.

De acordo com a veterinária que assinou o laudo, o órgão estava 80% comprometido.

No entanto, ativistas da causa animal e veterinários questionam o tratamento dado ao leão.

Um vídeo publicado nas redes dias antes da morte de Nagan, mostra o animal debilitado e magro.

Desde então, a categoria busca respostas junto à Prefeitura de Americana.

Histórico

O leão Nagan chegou ao Parque Ecológico de Americana no dia 9 de outubro de 2015, já com 17 anos, vindo do Zoo São Vicente (SP). Formava casal com a fêmea Menina, também idosa, atualmente com 20 anos.

Os ativistas agora monitoram a felina. Também pelo fato de a expectativa de vida da espécie ser de 20 anos em cativeiro, de acordo com o veterinário do zoológico.
